I am going to be somebody!
Somebody you never wanted me to be
I'm going to be persistent, prestigious, positive, and powerful...
I'm gonna walk a walk of pride because I'm proud to be me
You may curse me with unkind words
Reject me with malice
But I will stand above it all
Rise above and even when I fall
I will get back up because I have been and always will be a fighter...

I'm fighting for me !
Because everyday you try to break me and bring me down
With words that are foul
And you try to see me be just like you
You want me to be angry and bitter for the rest of my life
But I will fight for my life
To make it mine
To make it fine
To make me shine
Because even in my darkest moments, they tell me they see a light
They tell me they see my fight
And I'm finally realizing that they're right...
I am not the problem
I am not the burden

I am not the ingrate you call me...but you are

Because you have a daughter whose only desire is to be loved
Her only burning fire is fueled by dreams of being somebody's role model
The role model you never were
You call me a bitch
You try to snatch my pride
You rip heart out of my chest attempting to leave a black hole inside
But I shout at the top of my lungs
I Know I Will Survive
God is on my side
And sometimes this walk gets mean
And your words cut deep
But when I lay down to sleep
I'm so happy I'm me
Because this jessica p will be unstoppable you see
So bring the pain the rain and whatever other storm you choose
You will always lose
Because all you're doing is making me stronger
You say I don't honor you
But in reality you have never honored me
Becuse I never cause you harm
But you seem to always bother me
I'm starting to think you're fond of me
You're proud of all I'm going to be
And I don't need you to say it
Because I know it
I own it
My pride is mine!
So devil stand back...
You're not welcomed in this mind
I will love harder
Laugh longer
And strive for above and beyond because that's my right!
You knock me down time and time again
But no matter how long I'm down or how much I fall
You will NEVER see me stay there
You will NEVER see me lay there
You will only see me pray there...
Knees on the ground head bowed
Because I am loved
And if nobody else ever loves me....
I love me !!!!!
I motivate me when I'm down
And I always have because you were never around
You say you should have aborted me ??
